Jodi L. Hartman
Jodi L. Hartman is majority managing member and founding partner with Hartman & Citrin LLC. Jodi practices general intellectual property law. Jodi has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in a variety of fields such as electrical devices, mechanical devices, software, and telecommunications. Jodi also has experience preparing right to market opinions and infringement opinions, as well as in preparing and prosecuting trademark applications.
Jodi received her law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law, cum laude, and her engineering degree from Clemson University, magna cum laude.
Jodi is licensed to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office and in the State of Georgia.
Yaakov Y. ("Adam J.") Citrin
Yaakov (“Adam”) Citrin is a partner with Hartman & Citrin LLC. Adam has prepared and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications in a variety of arts including defense technologies, electrical devices, mechanical devices, medical devices, packaging (including pharmaceutical and compliance packaging), software and user interface technologies, cloud computing technologies, aviation and avionics technologies, and telecommunications technologies. Adam also has represented clients in various post-allowance proceedings including patent reexamination and reissue proceedings, drafted patent opinions (including right-to-market/freedom-to-operate opinions and non-infringement/invalidity opinions), and has worked on patent litigation cases.
Adam also has prepared and prosecuted trademark applications and has represented clients in various trademark disputes including assertion of trademark registrations and defense against claims of trademark infringement. Adam also has represented clients in trademark opposition proceedings, trademark litigation cases, and settlement discussions. Adam also has prepared license agreements and other intellectual property agreements, and advised clients in building intellectual property portfolios and monetizing those portfolios.
Adam is a published author (Are the Secrecy Order Compensation Provisions of the Patent Act Constitutional Under the Fifth Amendment?, 1 Akron Intell. Prop. Journal 275 (2007)), a past-editor for the University of Akron School of Law Intellectual Property Journal, and has presented CLE programs on patent appeal strategy and procedure, various patent prosecution issues (including 101 issues under Alice and its progeny), and on various other aspects of intellectual property law in the United States and abroad. Adam currently serves on the Board of the Georgia IP Alliance and has served on the Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO) Patent Office Practice (U.S.) Committee and as a voting member of the ABA Patent Office Affairs Committee.
Adam received his law degree and a certificate in intellectual property from the University of Akron School of Law and his engineering degree and a minor in English-World Literature from North Carolina State University.
Adam is licensed to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office, the United States Supreme Court, and in the State of Georgia.

Jonathan A. Paulis
Jonathan is a patent agent with Hartman & Citrin LLC. Jonathan has extensive experience with all aspects of patent application preparation and prosecution. Jonathan has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in a variety of technical fields such as telecommunications, mobile devices, operating systems, other software and hardware, packaging, and mechanical devices.
Jonathan received his engineering degree from The Georgia Institute of Technology. Jonathan is licensed to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office.
Timothy is an associate with Hartman & Citrin LLC. Timothy has experience assisting clients in all aspects of preparation and prosecution of patent, trademark, and copyright applications. Timothy is also experienced in drafting IP licensing agreements and IP counseling. Currently, his practice focuses exclusively on assisting clients with patent matters under federal law before the US Patent and Trademark Office in a variety of fields, such as control systems, telecommunications products and services, cloud computing, back-end network architecture, data mining, aerospace, oilfield and renewable energy, and all aspects of the mechanical arts.
Timothy received his law degree from the University of California Davis and his mechanical engineering degree from Purdue University. Timothy has engineering experience in multiple fields and also worked as a legal extern at the United States Patent & Trademark Office.
Timothy is licensed to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office and in the State of Texas.
